Improved sensitivity for pressure sensing in microbubble resonators

Abstract

We have realized a liquid-filled microbubble and tuned the whispering gallery mode frequency by internally applying aerostatic pressure. In comparison to an air-filled microbubble the sensitivity is improved by nearly 20%.
