Optical Fiber curvature sensors based on single mode - 7 core - single mode fiber structures

Abstract

A novel curvature sensor based on multicore fiber is presented. This device allows for optical interrogation by either fringe visibility or spectral shift. Experimental results show a repeatable, very stable and high sensitivity fiber sensor.
