Abstract
We report the excitation of a surface plasmon resonance (SPR) close to the orthogonal axis of a gold (Au) film on borosilicate glass. The need for prisms is removed simplifying the practical requirements for photonic devices and sensors. Spectroscopic measurement of SPR spectral shifts ~5° incidence within a reflection spectrophotometer for two liquids are taken.
