Hollow Core Photonic Crystal Fibers for Quantitative Measurements of Fractional Amounts of Gases

Abstract

Hollow-core photonic bandgap fibers have the potential as sensors for molecular gases. Based on measured transmission properties as a function of laser frequency the potential accuracy with which the amount of substance can be determined is estimated.
