Abstract

We investigate the influence of fibre nonlinear effects on the performance of a 1 Tbps (10×100 Gbps) 16QAM coherent multi-band e-OFDM super-channel propagating over 1000-km (10×100 km) of uncompensated G.652 fibre line. We demonstrate how FWM and XPM impact the performance of e-OFDM, and clearly show that PAPR is not the relevant limiting factor.
