Towards Stable and Ultra-Fast Converging Equalizers for Multimode Fiber Transmission Systems

Abstract

The rate of convergence of the IPNLMS and the RLS FDEs are compared in a 6×6 MDM system for three fiber mode coupling regimes. The sparse equalizers show a faster rate of convergence for weakly coupled MDM systems.
