Flexible FEC Optimization for Time-Domain Hybrid Modulation Formats

Abstract

We propose a new strategy for the application of FEC codes to TDHMF: it improves sensitivity with respect to the single FEC approach and also outperforms PM-8QAM at 6 bit per symbol.
