Digital sub-banding – a signal processing architecture radically improving OFDM coherent optical receivers

Abstract

We review a digital sub-banding ASIC/FPGA DSP architecture for optical OFDM receivers achieving record low complexity and high performance by digitally demultiplexing the received signal into multiple frequency-domain sub-bands to be processed in parallel.
