Extended WDM-PON Employing High Polarization Dependence R-SOAs and EDFA/Raman Amplification

Abstract

An extended WDM-PON employing high polarization dependence R-SOAs and EDFA/Raman amplification at the CO is proposed in this work. We experimentally demonstrated error free operation over 70 km using directly modulated R-SOAs at 1.25 Gb/s.
