Digital Signal Processing in Coherent Receivers for 100 Gb/s Ultra Long-Haul Applications

Abstract

Coherent-based solutions are key enablers for 100 Gb/s systems. Here we review the unique resistance to linear impairments, the tolerance to nonlinearities and potential for reaching ultra long haul distances of 100 Gb/s coherent PDM-QPSK.
