Abstract

Receiver sensitivity of multilevel unipolar and bipolar ASK modulation formats is minimized by optimizing the filter bandwidth of optical and electrical filters. Comparisons attest bipolar ASK formats a superior sensitivity performance compared to unipolar ASK.
