Abstract

In this work, we investigate the optical properties of thin film made up with poly[2,5-bis(3′,7′- dimethyloctyloxy) -1,4-phnylene-vinylene] (BDMO-PPV) and its mixture with 1,4-Cyclohexanedimethanol divinyl ether (CHDV). As the experimental result shows, pumped with 488 nm pulse laser, obvious threshold behavior and narrowing full width of half maximum (FWHM) of the emission peak is observed. Random lasing action is obtained in a BDMO-PPV/CHDV composite drop-coating film, with multiple narrow peaks around 597 nm when pumping above its lasing threshold of 0.87 mJ/cm2.
