Effect of nonradiative recombinations in thin film solar cells with light trapping: a model study

Abstract

We develop an analytic electro-optical model to show that thin film silicon solar cells with Lambertian light trapping outperform thicker ones with the same bulk quality, provided surface recombination is kept below a critical value.
