Abstract

We report on the prototyping and simulation based optimization of plasmonic reflection-grating back contacts for light trapping in thin-film silicon solar cells. A potential for improvement of the short-circuit current density by 4 mA/cm2 in comparison with the conventional random texture light-trapping scheme is identified.
