Pure and achromatic excitation of the LP02 mode in a dispersion-tailored optical fiber

Abstract

Pure excitation of normally dispersive LP02 mode by an adiabatic mode converter is demonstrated over 300 nm by S2-imaging. The LP02 dispersion was measured to be -113 ps/(nm.km) at 1.95 µm.
