Analysis of the Multi-Pulsing Instability in Mode-Locked Lasers Using Dynamical Dimension Reduction

Abstract

We introduce a dimension reduction method for determining the stability of mode-locked pulses and the onset of the multi-pulsing instability. Applying it to the master mode-locking model, operating regimes and high-energy pulses are demonstrated.
