Optically Tunable Bandpass Filter Using Series-connected Photonic Liquid Crystal Fibers

Abstract

We demonstrate an optically tunable bandpass filter based on two series-connected photonic liquid crystal fibers filled with different LCs. By using photoresponsive LCs, 115-nm bandwidth tunability can be achieved by 5-second blue-laser irradiation.
