Ultracompact all-optical XOR logic in a slow-light silicon photonic crystal waveguide

Abstract

We demonstrate ultracompact chip-based all-optical exclusive-OR (XOR) logic via slow-light enhanced four-wave mixing in a silicon photonic crystal waveguide. The device is error-free for 40 Gbit/s differential phase shift keying (DPSK) signals.
