Abstract

We investigate ultrahigh-Q nanocavities in photonic crystals for manipulating slow light. First, we study applicability of coupled nanocavities for realizing ultimate slow-light waveguides. Second, we exploit dynamic tuning of slow-light media for read/write processes.
