Optical Control of the Localized-Surface-Plasmon-Resonance Enhancement of Evanescent Coupling

Abstract

Significant enhancement of coupling from a tapered fiber into a microresonator results when surface plasmons are excited in gold nanorods on its surface. The enhancement may be rapidly controlled by an external light beam.
