Simulation of Sub-Wavelength Metal Gratings for On-Chip Applications in Optical Communications

Abstract

Finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) and finite element method (FEM) techniques are used to demonstrate the potential of integrating sub-wavelength metal gratings onto an InP based material platform. Dispersion relations and pulse propagation are simulated.
