Flat and Offset Band Edges in Multi-Mode Fibers with Superstructure Bragg Gratings

Abstract

We show that, in a conventional fiber with a superstructure Bragg grating designed for mode mixing, the dispersion at band-gap edge can be made quartic, or the band-edges may appear for non-zero wave vectors.
