Experimental demonstration of weak value amplification in trapped ion system

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

The first proof-of-principle experimental demonstration of purely atomic weak value amplification using a single trapped 40Ca+ ion is presented. We achieve an amplification factor as large as 50 for the position displacement of the ion.
