Heralded single photon absorption by a single-electron charged quantum dot

Abstract

We demonstrate heralded absorption of single photons –generated from a neutral quantum dot– by a single-electron charged quantum dot 5m away. The electron spin thereafter exhibits strong correlations with the absorbed photon state.
