Highly-Efficient Quantum Dot Single-Photon Sources and Giant-Photon Nonlinearities for Quantum-Information Processing

Abstract

We experimentally demonstrate the channeling of single photons from a quantum dot to a photonic-crystal waveguide mode with an efficiency of 98.4 %. This constitutes a deterministic single-photon source and may enable giant photon nonlinearities.
