Abstract

In this work we present design and construction of a diode pumped solid state laser of 700-W CW with high efficiency and reliability, very good beam quality, high uniform pumping intensity in the active area which simultaneously reduces the effects of thermal gradient, having axial symmetry with the rod axis and produces a well qualified output beam for material processing purposes. By this design, we obtained optical to optical efficiency of 34% in CW mode and beam quality less than 25.
