Observation of accelerating Wannier-Stark beams in optically induced photonic lattices

Abstract

We generate Wannier-Stark beams and observe shape-invariant propagation and acceleration in photonic lattices. In the absence of a lattice, such Wannier-Stark states diffract and deteriorate asymmetrically, in agreement with theoretical predictions.
