Photon Blockade in Circuit Quantum Electrodynamics

Abstract

Photon-photon interactions mediated by a qubit are realized in a microwave resonator and result in the blockaded transmission of photons. Transmission measurements versus source bandwidth reveal a photon staircase, a signature of a photon blockade.
