Abstract

Polymer-coated gold nanoshells are assembled, using capillary forces, into packed clusters with tailored surface plasmon resonances. Separation between nanoshells is engineered to be ~2nm. Strongly coupled resonances in nanoshell dimers and trimers are observed.
