Continuous Tuning of an Extented-Cavity Diode Laser with a Translated Varied Line-Space Grating as an External Coupler

Abstract

An extended-cavity diode laser is tuned without mode hop by simply translating a varied line-space grating. This original technique has produced a continuous wavelength tuning range as wide as 12 nm at 1550 nm.
