30-fs ultra sensitive absorption spectroscopy of low vapor pressure molecules: proton transfer in the gas phase

Abstract

Our transient absorption spectrometer for gas phase and solution samples can resolve changes of 2×10−6 in optical density. This allows the first direct comparison of ultrafast proton transfer at low vapor pressure and in solution.
