Abstract

Periodic surface plasmon-enhanced diffraction effect in cholesteric liquid crystal (CLC) grating is demonstrated. The CLC grating is a periodic structure and results in the excitation of a periodic surface plasmon. The surface plasmon-enhanced diffraction effect may be important in nano-optics applications.
