Pulsed High Duty Cycle Operation of λ ~ 8µm Quantum Cascade Lasers

Abstract

We report on high duty-cycle pulsed and burst-mode operation of λ~8µm quantum cascade lasers under ambient conditions for photo-acoustic spectroscopy. An optimum in average optical power and efficiency is seen around 800kHz and 50% duty-cycle.
