Modulation of Effective Nonlinearity (χ(3)) Due to Cascaded Processes in PPLN for Direct Third Harmonic Generation

Abstract

It is well known that periodical poling of ferroelectrics crystals cannot modulate the intrinsic third order nonlinearity. We report that it can however modulate the effective nonlinearity due to cascaded quadratic processes in PPLN crystal.
