Practical aspects of the active-loop chip-scale atomic clock

Abstract

EIT-based atomic clocks built as active oscillating loops can be compact and low-power, if the loop is closed by current modulation of VCSEL. The clock performance is shown to critically depend on the VCSEL properties.
