Molecular Probe of the BCS/BEC Crossover in 6Li

Abstract

We have produced a molecular Bose-Einstein condensate from fermionic 6Li atoms. Optical molecular spectroscopy is used to probe the many-body state in the BCS/BEC crossover region. Preliminary results indicate that the molecular contribution is much larger than expected.
