Simulation of coupling of ultra-intense laser pulses to funnel-mouthed plasma waveguides

Abstract

We present the results of simulations showing the formation of funnel-mouthed plasma channels in gas jets. Simulations then show 90% coupling efficiency of a 70 mJ, 100 fs pulse to the funnel-mouthed plasma channel.
