Migration-assisted upconversion in high-concentration EDFA with electronic feed-forward gain control

Abstract

Accounting for statistical nature of migration and upconversion, we develop a new model of high-concentration EDFA with an electronic feed-forward gain control. Unlike homo- geneous upconversion model, this model shows complete agreement with experimental data.
