Highly flexible switching characteristic using nonlinear polarization rotation in a Nonlinear Optical Loop Mirror

Abstract

We demonstrate theoretically that a wide variety of nonlinear switching characteristics can be obtained from a single NOLM structure exploiting nonlinear polarization rotation. Control parameters are the orientation of a wave plate and input polarization.
