Resonantly enhanced blackbody radiation from a periodic array of microcavities

Abstract

Blackbody radiation can be controlled by using a periodic array of microcavities on the surface. Thermal radiation is found to be resonantly enhanced by three different mechanisms depending on the aperture ratio of the periodic array.
