Abstract
We present an operational criterion for polarization orthogonality of single-mode biphoton field, which allows us to experimentally distinguish one state from the variety of orthogonal ones. Such a criterion can be applied to the realization of the three-state quantum cryptography protocols. The experimental verification of the criterion leads to the observation of the anticorrelation effect for the orthogonal biphotons in arbitrary polarization states.
