Current-Induced Anisotropy in the Susceptibility of a Free Electron Gas

Abstract

We present experimental data for current-induced anisotropy in the susceptibility of a two-dimensional electron gas. This novel effect is in principle independent of extrinsic properties of the semiconductor and occurs solely due to a shift in the steady-state distribution function of the electron gas.
