Abstract

Degenerate four-wave-mixing (DFWM) is uniquely suited for two-photon-absorption (TPA) spectroscopy at optical frequencies below the first electric-dipole-allowed one-photon transition, as any resonance observed in this frequency range must be two-photon in nature.
