Abstract

Interest toward solitons in quadratic, media has been recently spurred by the demonstration of spatial solitary waves in bulk KTP and LiNbO3 waveguides.1,2 Based on self-trapping and dragging of “walking solitons,” novel potential applications of beam conditioning were proposed and demonstrated,3 along with the concept of “eigenvalue switching” in the transition from single to multiple solitons through scalar second harmonic generation (SHG).4
