Abstract
We present femtosecond emission experiments on resonantly created excitons with densities as low as a few 108cm−2. Thanks to an improved detection sensitivity we can follow the gradual change in the physical origin of the secondary emission down to the lowest exciton densities. At high densities exciton/exciton and exciton/free carrier scattering lead to homogeneous broadening and rapid dephasing as shown by time-resolved reflectivity.
