Abstract

In previous studies three intermediates (primerhodopsin (photorhodopsin),12 hypsorhodopsin,1,3 and bathorhodopsin1) are found, but their relationship was still unclear. Two groups reported femtosecond studies of rhodopsin,4,5 but their results and interpretations are inconsistent.
