Abstract
The study of negative ions has been of great interest over the last few decades, but despite considerable efforts, many outstanding problems remain, even concerning the structure of atomic negative ions.1 Multiphoton experiments offer probes of atomic structure that are complementary to many of the earlier single photon detachment experiments. In this paper we present selected recent multiphoton experiments on a variety of atomic negative ion species.
