Abstract
We present the input-output characteristic of a fractal nonlinear-optical (intensity-dependent refractive index) Fabry-Perot resonator. The one-D dielectric integrated resonator is obtained by alternating two nondispersive planar dielectric layers of unperturbed refractive index n2 and n1 (n2 > n1) of thicknesses such that their optical paths are the same. The initiator is the layer of refractive index n2. If L is the optical path of the initiator, the generator is obtained by substituting the central part of the initiator having an optical path of L/3 with the layer of refractive index n1 and thickness such that the optical path is L/3 again. The resonator is obtained by iterating the operation on the left- and right-third optical paths and by stopping the iteration at the Nth step.
