Fast exciten localization in gallium selenide

Abstract

Stacking faults in the layered compound semiconductor gallium selenide introduce one-dimensional disorder that localizes excitons along the crystallographic c axis, whereas in other two dimensions the material retains the crystalline structure and the excitons are extended.1,2
