Abstract

It is well known that semiconductor lasers often cause unstable oscillations under the influence of their delayed-feedback fields. Detailed analyses and experiments relating to this problem have been reported by many authors.1–5 The analytical solution for determining system stability has also been reported.4,5 Owing to this, one can easily predict whether the system in a particular situation is stable or not without performing direct numerical integrations.
